Molds are a wonderful thing to break.
Rossi- yes she only has one name- has been a writer for many
publications, such as "The Daily News," "Time Out New York," "The New
York Post" and "Mcsweeney's" to name a few. She is widely known as the
writer of the "Eat Me" column for "Bust" magazine since 1998 and hosts
her own hit radio show on WOMR in Cape Cod called "Bite This", now
going into its 8th season.
She has just completed her first edible memoir "The Devil and Mrs.
Rossi -- known professionally as Chef Rossi --
is one of the New York catering world's most vivacious personalities.
She has been whisking up international fusions and mad theme parties
for over 23 years!.
As the catering director, owner and
executive chef of "The Raging Skillet", a cutting-edge catering
company known for breaking any and all rules, she has earned a
reputation as the one to call when it's time to do something
"I like to think of myself as the anti-chef,"
says Rossi, "no pretension, no complicated recipes, just fun, fast
and fabulous food."
Rossi, who credits
America as her home town, grew up in a camper wedged on the top of a
Ford pick-up truck and had visited most of the United States by the time she was 10 years old. Her wacky
sense of humor and international food fusions reflect her Hungarian
Yiddish background and her love of all things loaded with flavor.
"I think I was the only kid in high-school who
had a Yiddish/ Jersey/ Southern accent", says Rossi... "and a
passion for Tandoori Chicken."
The Zagat's Guide has called Rossi "the wildest thing this side of the Mason Dixon Line."
"The New York Times" has called Rossi, "a new breed of rebel
